FIS Head in ‘action’

Since in ‘real Armenia’ the criterion of the work done is a newspaper headline, the Foreign Intelligence Service, which reports directly to the supreme capitulator and has still not staffed its own team, has published a report on Armenia’s security. In this report, those who must have worked to eliminate potential threats at the root, tell the whole world about these very threats as C-students, not even reaching the level of a low-grade analytical centre.

There are two main newspaper headlines for which the ‘report’ was written: the ‘low’ probability of an attack by Azerbaijan and the ‘exploitation’ of gaps in Armenia’s energy security by external players for ‘political’ purposes. Thus, this ‘state’ institution shows its true sphere of interests – the reproduction of the capitulatory authorities, rather than minimising external risks and maximising this very security. Moreover, as the authors specifically emphasised, the probability of an Azerbaijani offensive is ‘low’ ‘at the time of publication’. That is, the planning horizon of one of the main ‘institutions’ responsible for strategic planning is no longer than half an hour.

There is nothing to be surprised about. What kind of risk prevention can be discussed in a country whose leadership is completely devoid of strategic thinking? What kind of ‘national security’ can we talk about in the absence of a meaningful political nation? How can national interests be defended if they simply do not exist?

After all, what else can be expected from an organisation created by the Turkish Commandant Pashinyan? Let’s be honest: hardly anyone expected that the Foreign Intelligence Service would honestly mention the main threat to Armenia’s security in its opus – itself and its founders, the favourites of all foreign intelligence services of the region.
