Realism’s Revenge IV. The Delights of ‘Real Armenia’

‘Real Armenia’ takes on a very real shape. Armenian diplomats, devotedly serving Turkish collaborationists headed by Nikol Pasha, have found themselves in the crosshairs of their Azerbaijani ‘civilised partners’ in peace. Tigran Balayan, Armenia’s ambassador to Belgium, claimed to have been threatened by his Azerbaijani counterpart. These threats were made at none other than the Turkish Embassy, where Artsakh Armenian Balayan was invited to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Turkish Republic. Yes, you read that correctly. Tigran Balayan, the son of the great and distinguished Artsakh lawyer Kim Balayan, is in service of the man who surrendered Artsakh and deprived 120 thousand Artsakh people of the opportunity to live in their native land and be able to pay visits to the graves of their ancestors. As part of this service he is willing to do anything: forsaking his roots – no problem, attending a celebration for the Turkish Republic, founded on the blood of 1.5 million slaughtered compatriots – say no more, to swallow threats from the Azerbaijani ambassador appointed by Ilham Aliyev, Nikol Pashinyan’s ‘partner’ in ‘peace’ – naturally, that goes without saying. Regrettably, Balayan is not among the Armenian men who found the courage to act on the right side in time – tearing up his diplomatic passport, quitting the Turkish collaborationist team, and setting an example for colleagues and the new generation of Armenian diplomats. Instead, he happened to be one of those who are now chasing around various institutions and whining that he, an ‘Armenian diplomat’, was threatened by his Azerbaijani ‘colleague’ at a reception at the Turkish Embassy. One does not swing fists after the fight, Mr Balayan. But there is still a possibility for you to save your face and do the right thing. The threat from the Azerbaijani is a warning to force you to accept the fact that Baku and Ankara want only one thing – to finally close the Armenian issue. Should you make the wrong decision, you will join the long list of ignominious Turkish collaborationists. Even the most spectacular career will not wipe out the stain of treachery and dishonour. The Armenian Republic will by no means let anyone and anything be forgotten.

Noubar, Serge, Alex and others – don’t shake these blood soaked treacherous hands!
